| Went to bed at around 10pm yesterday as I need to wake up at 2am today to get ready for the Pg Bridge Run. Initially planned to be in bed by 8pm, however the dinner session with Chin Chin, Kenneth, Emily, Lye Mun & Kevin got carried away a little ( blamed it on the waitress for taking so long to serve the food....blargh! ) Took ages for them to serve Lye Mun's food. Poor her...bet she was starving when her food was serve. Wasn't feeling good during dinner actually...was having a slight gastric...thank god when I woke up in the morning the pain wasn't there. Slept over at Chin Chin's place since they closes the bridge at 2am for the run and I'm definitely sure if I were to be at home, I might not be sleeping at all. Bad habit of getting hooked on the pc. For most of the run, I don't go to bed till like 12am or 1am ( most of the run starts at 6am anyway ) . Penang Bridge run starts at 5am this year and we need to register between 4am to 4.45am. Left Chin Chin's place at around 3.45am to meet up with the rest of the runnings friends at Kenneth's house ( Jansen, Alan & Bee Hooi ( hope I get her name correct ) ) Since Kenneth's house is quite near to our starting point, we walked over. When we arrived at the side gate, most of the participants for Category D were already walking out to the starting point. Kenneth, Jansen & Alan still haven't got themselves register :P. We walked across the field trying to search for the registriation area and we found out that the registration was at the other entrance. So the guys walked out the entrance and re-enter again just to get the registration band. After that they were suppose to walked out back again to the side entrance where we entered earlier and then to the starting point. ( How effective the registration system huh??!! ) Registration for the women category was at the primary school across the road, while the guys getting themselves registered, Chin Chin , Bee Hooi & myself walked over to our registration area. When we arrived, the entrance of the school were already packed! People were already lining up. We got around 30 mins before the flagged off. Met KL Tan, Sam, Li Lian, Miow Chin , Bernice, Mei See & Kit San in the compound area. Crowded areas doesn't really border me much but somehow today I wasn't feeling really good...felt slightly suffocated. Not sure if it was due to my headache. Been having headache in the morning lately whenever I wake up....not sure why... it just disaappear in the day...bah..screwed up body system..They opened the gate for us to walked to the starting point around 4.50am ( didn't really checked the time though) Was really crowded! Took about 6 mins of shuffling before we can run at our pace after the flagged off. Chin chin and myself was trying to keep our pace around 5:28/km..Nearly got my ankle twisted on the uneven road when heading back towards Penang Island after makign the U-turn! Around 12km after the U-turn heading back, Chin Chin told me to go ahead first as she need to slow down...started to made me worried. I know that if the pain wasn't intense, Chin Chin would always pushed herself through the pain. I tried to slow down a little to make sure she is okay.. was shocked to see her face was paled...got me even more worried...I kept on running but slowing down in between a little to see if she is alright till we reached the next water station. Kind of lost her in the crowd... when I saw her stopped at the water station ..I continued on..occasionaly trying to look back hoping to see her catch up behind me...I was worried all the way actually....I continued on running trying to catch up with Mei See hoping everything is fine with Chin Chin...I was feeling strong towards the end. I hoping to do a sub 2 hr. But as usual while approaching the last 3km, I started to get tired...Mei See ran passed me and asked me to keep up the pace as its going to finish soon. I tried pushing myself a little more.....arrggghh!! Always I don't end strong ...Hate it... When it hit the last 2km I knew I couldn't make it at 2 hrs...I was kind of disaapointed. Anyway was relieved when I ran into the finishing compound ( FINALLY the pain is ending!!! )....I was very suprised to be presented with the 20th placing card at the finishig line ( they award the tag for the top 20 runners - 1st to 15th placing with cash+hamper while 16th - 20th are only hampers) ...I felt like passing out when I arrived....when they tried to place the hand tagged on my wrist, I wasn't really able to balance myself...the girl who actually trying to place the tagged on my wrist kept saying sorry...hmmphh..Ain't it me who supposed to say sorry caused I think my hand keep shaking..ahhaha ..Anyway... about 2 mins later, saw Chin Chin crossed the finishing line...and I was relieved..We completed our run around 7.30am. Waited for the guys to arrived....In order to claim my prize I got to present my ID which I didn't bring it with me ( who will bring an ID for race...and luckily I did put it in my car which I normally dont if I come from home ) Took 3 hours before I got to collect my prize...Mei See and me waited till we were really pissed off. The official kept telling us that they are waiting for the officials to print out the name list but when we collected the prize the list was still hand written! DAMMIT! After collecting the prize, headed for dim sum with the rest of the running gang....spent about 45 mins to an hour at the eating place...chatting about the race experience all of us had along the way. Lye Mun joined us for dim sum as well. My next run would be next week in Ipoh - another half marathon to complete...it will just be a fun run for me...no pressure I hope ...Tsen, Wei Chern and Chin Chin are gamed for this....Ipoh here we come!!! My finishing medal - the gold medal is for the Top 20 - the silver medal is for the finisher
